WARDOGS HOTAS, flight sticks & RC radios compared
WARDOGS reads a HOTAS natively for its helicopters, so the question is which stick suits the way it flies. 30 products below, every spec read off the maker's own page; a dash means the maker doesn't publish it. 24 of 30 list contactless (Hall or magnetic) sensors in the maker's own spec. Want the settings creators actually fly with? See helicopter settings.
What matters for WARDOGS helicopters
- ›Setup lives at Settings > Gamepad > HOTAS: turn Enable HOTAS on and give roll, pitch, yaw and collective one axis each. The game hands control to the stick when you take a pilot seat. (allthings.how setup guide (third-party, undated), read 2026-10-01)
- ›Each axis has its own sensitivity and deadzone, and the stick commands a rotation RATE, not an angle, so a clean centre matters more than raw resolution: any wobble at rest is a slow drift in the air. (allthings.how setup guide (third-party, undated), read 2026-10-01)
- ›Stick and throttle buttons can only be bound from inside the pilot seat, not from the main menu. (allthings.how setup guide (third-party, undated), read 2026-10-01)
- ›Twist grip or rudder pedals: the game takes one yaw axis, so either works. Thrustmaster's own WARDOGS guide says the same, and toe brakes have nothing to bind to. (Thrustmaster WARDOGS guide, 2026-09-10)
- ›A self-centring-collective toggle exists: off for a normal throttle, on if your collective sits on a spring-centred stick (a twin-stick HOSAS setup). (Skycoach flying guide (third-party), read 2026-10-01)
- ›RC radios work as a USB joystick: on EdgeTX pick Joystick when you plug in (USB Mode defaults to Ask) and turn the RF modules off; in Classic mode channels 1–8 map to the standard joystick axes. (EdgeTX manual, read 2026-10-01)
- ›Since the Season 1 build, helicopter input damping applies to every device, sticks and radios included. (Bulkhead, Season 1 changelog, 2026-09-09)
Reading the table for a helicopter: twist yaw saves buying pedals, a throttle axis is your collective, and a centre that returns cleanly matters more than the resolution figure. Force feedback is a premium feel, not a requirement. None of this makes you a better pilot by itself; hours in the seat do.

Specs as each maker states them on the date shown; a dash means it isn't published (we don't fill gaps with guesses). Price is a class from the maker's list price: Budget under US$100, Mid to $250, High to $500, Enthusiast above; check the live price before buying.
