Pulsar Superglide 2 Review: The Fastest Feel on the Market

★★★★½ 4.5/5

Reviewed 2026-06-20

Tempered aluminosilicate glass feet that glide faster and crisper than any PTFE, with stops that snap. The benchmark fast skate — just know glass rewards a light, controlled hand and punishes a heavy one.

Best for: Speed-first, lower-sensitivity aimers who want the slickest possible glide and clean, sharp stops on a control pad.

The good

  • +Lowest friction of any skate type — fast, smooth, near-frictionless glide
  • +Crisp, sharp stops that PTFE cannot quite match
  • +Glass barely wears, so the feel stays identical for years
  • +Pulsar's V2 refined the edge bevel for fewer snags than the original

The catch

  • Glass is unforgiving for a heavy hand — easy to overshoot if your sens is high
  • Premium price, several times what a PTFE set costs
  • Per-mouse fitment can be fiddly; the wrong cut sits proud and feels uneven
  • Best paired with a control pad — on a fast pad it can feel uncontrollable

AimBench insight

Never run glass-on-glass: pair the Superglide 2 with a control cloth pad (Saturn Pro, Vaxee PA), because a glass skate on a SkyPAD or SP-004 stacks two near-frictionless surfaces and the combined speed becomes genuinely uncontrollable.

Glass changed what a skate could feel like, and the Superglide 2 is the cleanest version of it. Tempered aluminosilicate glass has lower friction than any PTFE, so the mouse glides like it is floating, and because glass is hard and smooth the stops come in sharp and clean instead of dragging out. For the right player it is the most satisfying feel in the category.

Glass is a preference, not a tier

Faster is not automatically better. Glass rewards a light, deliberate hand and a lower sensitivity, where the extra speed translates into effortless micro-adjustments. Pile a heavy hand and a high sens on top of glass and you will sail past targets. This is the most important thing to understand before you buy: the Superglide is the best fast skate, but fast is a taste, matched to you and your pad, not a rung on a ladder.

The honest ceiling

There is no measured aim advantage to any skate — glass included. What you get is the slickest, most consistent glide and the crispest stop, plus durability that PTFE cannot touch since glass simply does not wear down. That is real value if the feel suits you. It will not raise your rank; it will make a low-sens flick feel like silk.

Pair glass with a control or balanced pad, not a fast one, or the combined speed gets away from you. If you want most of the glass slickness for a fraction of the price, a fast PTFE like Tiger ICE is the sensible step before committing to glass.
