Glass is a preference, not a tier

Faster is not automatically better. Glass rewards a light, deliberate hand and a lower sensitivity, where the extra speed translates into effortless micro-adjustments. Pile a heavy hand and a high sens on top of glass and you will sail past targets. This is the most important thing to understand before you buy: the Superglide is the best fast skate, but fast is a taste, matched to you and your pad, not a rung on a ladder.

The honest ceiling

There is no measured aim advantage to any skate — glass included. What you get is the slickest, most consistent glide and the crispest stop, plus durability that PTFE cannot touch since glass simply does not wear down. That is real value if the feel suits you. It will not raise your rank; it will make a low-sens flick feel like silk.

Pair glass with a control or balanced pad, not a fast one, or the combined speed gets away from you. If you want most of the glass slickness for a fraction of the price, a fast PTFE like Tiger ICE is the sensible step before committing to glass.
