The Odyssey OLED G6 does something the other extreme-refresh panels don't: it puts 500 Hz, OLED response, and 1440p together at a sane price. Where the 480 Hz ASUS asks a clear premium for its headline, the G6 makes the spec almost incidental to the price — which changes the calculus.

Be clear-eyed about the refresh. The aim-task gains are front-loaded at 60 to 144 Hz and the controlled evidence flat-lines past 240. So 500 Hz is not a competitive weapon — it's smoothness and headroom. The reason the G6 still scores so well is that you're getting elite OLED clarity and 1440p sharpness at a 360 Hz-OLED price, with the 500 Hz thrown in rather than charged for.

What to watch

Two caveats. The refresh only materialises if your PC can feed 500 fps at 1440p, which is a serious hardware ask — most players will run well below it and that's fine. And OLED burn-in remains a real long-term risk that an LCD doesn't carry, so weigh it if you marathon one title.

A monitor is a floor, not a booster. The honest reason to pick the G6 is value: OLED clarity and 1440p at a good price. The 500 Hz is a number, not an edge.

If you'd rather not chase refresh at all, the 360 Hz AW2725DF or 240 Hz MAG 271QPX give you the same OLED benefits for less worry about feeding the panel.
