The Viper V3 Pro is the mouse you see on the most competitive desks in Valorant and CS2, and the reason is simple: it's a large, planted, ambidextrous shape at a genuinely light 54 g, with a sensor and click latency that give you nothing to think about. For palm and claw grippers with medium-to-large hands, it's as close to a default as the market has.
What you're actually buying
Refinement, not an edge. Every flagship here — this, the OP1 8K, the Superlight 2 — clears the competitive floor on sensor, weight and polling. What the Viper buys you over a budget mouse is a shape that's been iterated to feel invisible, top-tier build, and the comfort of running what half the pro field runs. That's worth money to a lot of people; just be honest that it's comfort and consistency money, not win-rate money.
The 8K caveat
The headline 8000 Hz polling needs the separate HyperPolling dongle and a PC with headroom to be worth enabling — and even then it shaves fractions of a millisecond. 1000 Hz is the floor and 2000 Hz the sweet spot; don't buy this mouse for the Hz number. Buy it for the shape.
Big hands and a palm/claw grip? This is a safe pick. Smaller hands or a fingertip grip will likely prefer something shorter — check the mouse-by-hand-size ranker before you commit.
