Best gaming mouse for competitive FPS

Every mouse here already clears the competitive floor — a modern sensor, low click latency and a weight that won't fight your aim — so none of them wins you games on its own. What this list ranks is which is the best-BUILT, on our measured composite (latency, sensor, build, weight, polling link), price aside. Read the order as bonuses in engineering, not aim gains. We also show how many pros run each — as context, never as the ranking.

How we ranked these

Ranked purely by our measured best-built composite — independent click latency, sensor integrity, build/QC, weight and polling-link, each sourced (TechPowerUp et al.); price/value is excluded here (that's what the by-budget guide is for). Pro adoption is shown for context but does NOT affect the order. Mice we haven't measured yet fall to the bottom — we don't guess a build score.

The diminishing-returns curve
Almost all the advantage gear can give you sits below the baseline (the major-gaps zone). Past the knee the curve flattens: a marginal, pro-margin band, then preference, where more spend buys consistency and comfort, not wins. Nothing here is a win-rate; it's how much of gear's ceiling you've reached.

The picks

This order IS the build score — our measured engineering composite (click latency, sensor, build, weight, polling link — price aside), each axis sourced. But read it right: every pick already clears the competitive floor, so the gaps below are bonuses in build, not a win-rate order — none of them aims for you. We show how many pros run each as context only — adoption never moves the ranking (that's what the most-used gear page is for). Where two mice tie on the score, the order breaks by each mouse's in-class composite (the score on its review — the same build judged for value within its price class), then weight; tied rows say so below.
